The Waikato - Fonterra's biggest area for investment and growth

Fonterra Co-operative is one of the world’s largest processors of milk, owned by 10,500 New Zealand farming families and employing over 22,000 people globally.

The Waikato region is Fonterra’s biggest area for investment and growth. In the Waikato it’s one of the largest employers, with 9322 people employed in the dairy industry.

Last season Fonterra contributed to $2.3 billion into the Waikato economy. It also has an active involvement in the community, participating in a variety of initiatives to further benefit the lives of Waikato citizens, including Milk for Schools, Grassroots Fund and Living Water.

Fonterra’s presence is felt in every New Zealand town and every family fridge, flying the nation’s flag in more than 100 countries and delivering dairy nutrition to over one billion people worldwide.
