It has been quite a journey, Scott Parry, Presenter and Executive Producer of Fishing & Adventure, sold his assets in 2010 and quit his job as a Satellite TV Installer to give the Fishing Show business a crack alongside Cousin Mig (Michael) Rumney, his right-hand man, and co-presenter of the show.
“It’s been a long, hard road” admits Parry. “Convincing sponsors to back us in the beginning and negotiating with networks was challenging. It’s great to feel like we’ve made it out the other side now, with the show and business going from strength to strength. We now have a team of five in the office with further exciting business growth opportunities foreseeable”.
Fishing & Adventure has been rated the number one fishing show in New Zealand for the past two years, and there is no sign of the team slowing down. This June they will air, for the first time on Australian television – meeting the demands of many fans across the ditch.
“We are really stoked to have our most recent seasons available in Australia. Seeing the huge success of the show here in NZ, we feel that the style and format of what we are doing will really resonate with our Aussie neighbors. Although the show is currently filmed in NZ, there is plenty of relatable content, that will entertain our Australian based viewers”, says Parry.
Season 7 is now in production for New Zealand Television and will be on TVNZ1 this July. The boys’ venture into some truly amazing fishing and diving hot spots, across New Zealand, in search of the weekly challenge fish. The crew is big on teaching you all of their tips and techniques and their grass roots attitude resonates with viewers of all demographics.
